Sophie Turner opens up on STRUGGLE of being a single mother post divorce from Joe Jonas |

Sophie Turner is spilling the beans about being a single mom to her two daughters, after her highly publicised split from husband Joe Jonas.
The actress, who has been busy promoting her upcoming series ‘Joan’, spoke about the emotional and physical struggles of raising her daughters, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2, on her own. The ‘Game of Thrones‘ alum revealed how her role in the new series —a single mother and jewel thief in the 1980s—resonated with her personal life.
“If I hadn’t been a mother, I don’t know if I would have been able to bring the same energy that I did into it,” Turner shared with The Sunday Times. She also described her experience as a single parent, saying, “It’s such a struggle being a single mother.” Turner, who began filming the drama series before Jonas, 35, filed for divorce in September 2023, noted that playing Joan had a profound impact on her and revealed how it helped her cope with the recent changes. “Joan gave me a lot of strength during a time when I needed it most,” she explained.
While reflecting on motherhood, Turner addressed the societal pressures that mothers face. “There’s so much shame that comes with motherhood,” she said. “You go to work, you’re shamed. If you don’t go to work, you’re shamed.”

Turner and Jonas, who married in a surprise Las Vegas ceremony in 2019, faced a high-profile divorce battle. Turner filed a lawsuit against Jonas over the custody of their children, but according to PageSix, the two have since reached a resolution and are now “friendly and great co-parents.”
Since their split, Turner has been linked to British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, while Jonas has reportedly moved on in his romantic life, and was last seen with model Stormi Bree and actress Laila Abdallah.
