Recently, at an awards function in Chennai, the director was asked about casting choices for a potential Tamil version of Animal.In response, Vanga mentioned Tamil actor Suriya as the ideal candidate for the lead role. His answer was welcomed with loud cheers from the audience.

Vanga gained recognition with his previous film Arjun Reddy, followed by its Hindi version Kabir Singh, although it faced criticism for its portrayal of toxic masculinity.
