Ranbir Kapoor has not yet confirmed that he’s doing ‘Ramayana‘, however, pictures of him dressed as Lord Ram with Sai Pallavi playing Sita have gone viral. This Nitesh Tiwari film has gone on floors a while ago and Ranbir has been rigourously training for it, for a while now. As he is set to essay the role of Lord Ram, the actor has made a major confession recently about his religious beliefs.Ranbir said that he believes a lot in Sanatana Dharma, after he started reading about it in the last couple of years.
He said during a chat with Nikhil Kamath on his podcast, “I started believing a lot in the Sanatana Dharam. I think I started reading a lot about it in the last couple of years. I went quite deep into what it is, what the effects are. And see, you believe it or you don’t believe it.”
Ranbir also spoke about hsi relationship with God and said that he’s never really asked something from him. “Even when I’m in trouble, when I’ve been like, my mother’s fighting with me, and I don’t have another conflicted conversation with her, where she’s going to cry and stuff like that. Or I want a film to succeed, or I want to buy something. I’ve never asked for that. So my relationship with God is a lot of gratitude. And you know, I feel very, very grateful for the place I’m in, of everything that I have. And so that kind of sums up my relationship with God,” confessed the actor.
He further spoke about the religious beliefs of his parents, saying that Rishi Kapoor was quite religious, his mother was less than him. “My dad was extremely pious. My mother was less religious, lesser than my dad, but it made him happy, so she used to do it. So, we, as kids, saw them, like you said, kids see their parents and try to emulate that. So I have a good feeling about God. I realised very early on that my manifestation power is very strong. If I ask something from God, I was getting it too easily. So at a very young age, I stopped asking, because I said, I’ll save it for a rainy day. And I was very young when I was having this conversation with myself. But I think since then, I, every night, I say, thank you, God, and I go to sleep,” said Ranbir.
Apart from ‘Ramayana’, Ranbir is also gearing up to begin shoot for Sanjay Leela Bhansalis’ ‘Love And War‘ with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
