Kate Winslet, DiCaprio’s co-star in ‘Titanic’, also expressed her sorrow over the producer’s passing. Reflecting on Landau’s enduring passion for filmmaking, she stated, “Jon Landau was the kindest and best of men. He was a man rich with compassion and exceptional at supporting and nurturing teams of phenomenal creative people. His strength in life was knowing the importance of family, at home and at work. He was always full of smiles and gratitude. I can’t believe I am writing this, can’t believe he is gone.”Winslet, who has known Landau since she was 20, credited him with helping her rise to blockbuster stardom with the James Cameron-directed 1997 film. She also joined the blockbuster ‘Avatar’ franchise, playing a supporting role in the film.

He made everything and everyone he touched feel they could be better. He led with humour and strength, compassion and kindness. The People say all energy is borrowed and someday you have to give it back. I see you, Jon.”
