I don’t think I have taken a single holiday since lockdown: Jaideep Ahlawat- Exclusive

Jaideep Ahlawat is currently one of the busiest actors in the business, he’s promoting Paatal Lok 2, but also has Jewel Thief with Saif Ali Khan and Siddharth Anand in pipeline, along with Raj and DK’s The Family Man season 2 and Rakht Bramand. He also has Hisaab with Shefali Shah and Ikkis with Dharmendra, Agastya Nanda, directed by Sriram Raghavan and many more projects which are still under wraps.

But such was not the case with him before the super success of Paatal Lok season 1, his portrayal of Hathiram Chowdhary endeared him to the industry and his performance was applauded by one and all. Over the past 4 years, he has worked in projects like Jaane Jaan, An Action Hero , Maharaj, The Broken News etc.
Talking about the past 4 years in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Jaideep says , “ I have worked a lot since then… Mujhe nahi lagta Lockdown ke baad maine koi chutti le hai ( I don’t think I have taken a holiday since lockdown). Work began coming in from September-October 2021 and we are now in 2025 …I have worked back to back. I’m very happy and that’s what I wanted… I wanted to do something new, something that I wanted to jump into and see where it takes me.”
As he reprises his role of Hathiram Chowdhary in the second season of Paatal Lok, he shares that he didn’t feel as struggle to get back into the role after a gap of 4 years. He said, “ Hathiram felt liberated by the end of season 1, he didn’t have to prove himself in front of his wife or son or colleagues. He’s more calm now and has accepted the situation. Also it wasn’t difficult to go back to Hathiram as it’s a role that is very close to me, and I had a lot of memorable time with it and revisiting it was like going back home.”
