On its sixth day, the film witnessed a further decline in numbers, managing to rake in an estimated Rs 2.25 crore, reported scanilk.com. Despite the star power and anticipation surrounding the project, it has yet to make a significant breakthrough in terms of box office success.
The film which earned Rs 40 crore over its extended Eid weekend, earned a total of Rs 4.75 crore during its two working weekdays, thus taking its total collection to approximately Rs 45.55 crore nett.
Despite hopes for a surge in earnings, the film’s performance remains below expectations, raising doubts about its ability to cross the coveted Rs 50 crore mark by the end of its first week in theatres.
This setback marks Bade Miyan Chote Miyan as one of the few Eid releases to falter at the box office. In contrast, Akshay Kumar’s previous Eid release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, proved to be a massive success, earning a commendable Rs 82.37 crore and securing a spot among the top 10 highest-grossing films of 2007.
The film is sharing its box office business with the Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Maidaan‘ which also released on the same day. The film which was delayed for several years, has amassed just around Rs 25 crore nett..
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan boasts a star-studded ensemble including Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya Furniturewala, Sonakshi Sinha, and Ronit Roy in pivotal roles. Despite its impressive cast, the film struggles to captivate audiences and make a significant impact at the box office.
