Allu Arjun appeared virtually before a local court concerning the Sandhya Theatre stampede during ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ premiere, which resulted in one fatality and an injury. Interim bail was granted earlier, and his regular bail hearing is postponed to December 30. Legal proceedings involve the actor, his security team, and the theater management.

Icon star Allu Arjun appeared virtually before a local court on December 27, 2024, as part of the ongoing proceedings related to the Sandhya Theatre stampede case. The actor is accused in the case following a tragic incident during the premiere of his latest film, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule‘, where a 35-year-old woman lost her life and her eight-year-old son was injured due to a stampede caused by fans eager to catch a glimpse of him.
Allu Arjun had initially been arrested on December 13 and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. However, he was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court shortly after his arrest and was released from jail on December 14. With his remand period concluding, he appeared via video conference for the court hearing, citing security concerns and the potential for public disruption if he attended in person as per a PTI report.
During the hearing, Allu Arjun’s legal team filed a regular bail petition, which was postponed to December 30 at the request of the police, who sought additional time to prepare their response. The court acknowledged this request and scheduled further proceedings for the following week. The incident that led to these legal troubles occurred on December 4 when fans rushed into the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, resulting in chaos as they attempted to see Allu Arjun. In the aftermath, police registered a case against not only the actor but also his security team and the theatre management under various sections of Indian law based on a complaint from the deceased woman’s family.
Despite these challenges, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ has been a commercial success, grossing over Rs 1,700 crore worldwide since its release.
