Robert Downey Jr opened up about how he felt after winning his first Oscar for best supporting actor for playing Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer. In an interview with People, Robert also spoke about how his late father –director, screenwriter and actor Robert Downey Sr – thought he was ‘robbed’ in 1993 for not winning the best actor Oscar for Chaplin.
Robert Downey Jr : on at long last winning Oscar
Robert Downey Jr said, “It’s insane that Al Pacino, one of my #1 people on the planet, introduced Best Picture. Furthermore, it’s likewise insane that, I think, deservedly he won whenever I first was designated [in 1993 for Chaplin], for Fragrance of a Lady… Senior went to his grave going, ‘[You] got looted for Chaplin.’ He wouldn’t agree that he truly thought any about my different motion pictures were excellent or even that he thought Chaplin was any great, yet he realize that I got burglarized… I believe that he would feel that equity was finished and that he can rest. However, the issue is, he never thought often about any of this s*** at any rate.”
Robert Downey Jr : first Oscar
Earlier in March, Robert Downey Jr won his most memorable acting Oscar in the best supporting acting classification for his job in Oppenheimer. The entertainer playfully expressed gratitude toward his ‘terrible childhood’ for the honor which he won interestingly, following two past selections. Robert was recently selected for best entertainer in 1993 for Chaplin, and for best supporting entertainer in 2009 for Tropic Thunder.
He plays Lewis Strauss, J Robert Oppenheimer’s adversary in the Christopher Nolan-coordinated biopic of the spearheading nuclear weapons researcher, played by Cillian Murphy.
